Hi all; I'm attempting to create a hyperlink to a RDP file to launch Remote Desktop Connection. Canon P100 Dhii Manualidades here. The following occurs: If I link directly to a file (say, C: test.rdp), I receive an alert stating 'No Program is registered to open this file' If I link directly to Remote Desktop Connection (%windir% system32 mstsc.exe), I am successful at launching RDC, but not with the parameters of a target file. If I try to add the parameter of a file (%windir% system32 mstsc.exe -edit '(file location)' OR%windir% system32 mstsc.exe '(file location)' ), I receive an alert, 'Cannot open the specified file' The last example is a bit perplexing as the same syntax will work in a shortcut anywhere on my machine. Was wondering if anybody is aware of a workaround, add-on, etc. That could resolve this problem.

Remote desktop, other programs appear too small. The RDP app is%windir% System32 mstsc.exe so the manifest file is mstsc.exe.manifest. Latest updates for the Windows start-up programs database 31st July. X - flash.exe (%System% system32) flash.exe - X - flash. MICROSOFT EXEL - X - MSE.exe.

I found this solution for 'drop down list with hyperlink' but it did not work. Perhaps a better solution is to use a workaround that relies on the HYPERLINK function to refer to whatever is selected in the drop-down list.

I have created a drop down list and linked each one of them to a specific worksheet. When I select them individually they link to appropriate worksheet. But when I select them in the drop down list I receive the following error when I select the Hyperlink in cell B1 as directed above. 'Cannot open the specified file' Any thoughts? I have a file that became too big due to phantom bloat, unused range saved by Excel and all that kind of reasons. Thank to previous posts on that board tackling that issue, I was able to find how to proceed to reduce the file back to its normal size.

But I did so in a beta file (test file). The real file has become so big (103MB!) that Excel cannot even open it anymore! The file contains archive info that we do not have anywhere else. Is there anyway then to open the file or to reduce its size without opening it (through magics.)? I just honestly don't know how to retrieve that info before deleting that file. I'm trying to come up with a solution to calculate the man hours and days worked over multiple sheets. I have a file that has 8 sheets. The first seven sheets are the days of the week and the 8th sheet is where I want to calculate the hours. The days of the week consists of 'Name' 'Date' Hours' The 8th sheet consists of 'Name', 'Days of the week in their own column (7 columns in total)', 'Total Hours' and 'Total Days Worked' Now.

In order for me to do it on the 75-100 files I have at any given time, I need to open one, run the macro, close and save, then open the next one. Is it possible to write a macro that will start with the first file in a folder, open it and update links, run a macro, save and close, and open the next file in the folder until it has open all the files in the folder. I have experience with creating macros that reference different workbooks, but not sure how to go about opening files with different filenames (without referencing the exact filename). I'd like to be able to have basic code for opening, saving and closing, opening next file, saving and closing, etc. And input the macro I'd need to run in each file in the appropriate location.
